Version 2026-09-13  ·  Applies to the Horcus waitlist

This notice explains what we collect when you join the Horcus waitlist, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed.

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 was notified in November 2025 with a staggered start — its core obligations around notice, consent and individual rights take effect in May 2027. We are following them from now rather than waiting. Nothing here is legal advice, and we will update this notice as the rules come into force.

Who we are

Horcus is operated by ACIGI Technologies LLP, 91 Springboard, C-2, Sector 1, Block C, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. For the purposes of the DPDP Act we are the Data Fiduciary for the information described here.

What we collect

Only what is needed to contact you about buying a car:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address, if you choose to give it — it is optional
  • The car you are considering
  • Roughly when you plan to buy
  • When you agreed, and which version of this notice you agreed to

We do not ask for your address, your income, your identity documents or your payment details.

Why we collect it

For one purpose: to contact you about your car requirement and, when Horcus opens in your area, to help you get offers from authorised dealerships for the car you have chosen.

We use it only for the purpose described above. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to dealerships as a sales lead.

Your consent

We collect this information only when you tick the consent box on the waitlist form. That box is never pre-ticked, and you are free not to join.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing gilman@horcus.in. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent was. Once you withdraw, we stop contacting you and delete your record.

Calls and messages

By joining the waitlist you are agreeing that we may contact you by phone, SMS or email about your car requirement. We will not send you marketing about anything else, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Who else sees it

At this stage we do not share your details with dealerships, manufacturers, advertisers or data brokers. The only companies that handle them are the providers who host this website and store the form submissions — they process the data only to provide that service to Horcus.

When Horcus is live and you choose a dealership, your details would be shared with that dealership only, so it can complete the sale to you. That does not happen from the waitlist alone, and it does not happen unless you choose.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to remove it, or 18 months from the date you joined, whichever comes first. After that we delete it.

How it is protected

Your details are sent over an encrypted connection and stored where only the people who need them can reach them. We deliberately collect as little as possible, because the safest data is the data we never held. If anything ever goes wrong with your information, we will tell you, and we will report it to the authorities where the law requires.

Your rights

These are the DPDP Act rights that take effect in May 2027. We are honouring them now, so you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you and what we have done with it
  • Correct or complete anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Erase your information
  • Withdraw consent — we then stop contacting you and delete your record
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to

Email gilman@horcus.in from the address you gave us, or call the number below from the phone number you gave us, so we can be sure it is you. We will normally respond within 30 days and confirm in writing when it is done.

If you are not satisfied

Contact our grievance officer first and give us a chance to fix it:

If we do not resolve it, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Cookies, tracking and children

This website sets no cookies and we do not use analytics, advertising or session-recording tools. If that changes, this notice will be updated first.

The waitlist is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected a child’s details, we will delete them.

Changes to this notice

If we change it, we will update the version date at the top. We record which version was in force when you gave consent, so we can tell you exactly what you agreed to.
